 This is a brownbear Cub, maybe 1 year old, in Nikiski AK. Doing What Bears DoBrown Bears are costal Grizzly bears. They get much bigger than their Interior cousins, and stay with their mothers for 3-4 years. Many times the Male or Boar Brown Bears will hunt, and kill cubs so the Females or Sows will go back into esterous, and once again be viable for breeding. Bears, both sows and boars die in battle every year; the sow protecting her cubs and the boars, well, they are doing what bears do. |
